This pilot opens with a bang of a laugh to kick off the awesome series.
Scientists/roomies Sheldon and Leonard returned to their apartment after trying to get easy money by donating sperms ( but Sheldon is bothered by the fact that the potential offsprings are not guaranteed to be geniuses and thus would be a waste of his sperms) only to find that their obese transvestite neighbor has moved out and replaced by a pretty, perky Cheesecake Factory waitress named Penny.
Penny's a normal, gorgeous chick (just like us. ha!) while her neighbors across the hall are Klingon-speaking nerds with hearts of gold so when they invited her over for lunch and introduced her to their small circle of , uh, two other nerd friends, funny LOL stuff happened.
At this point, we can already tell that Leonard has his heart set on Penny despite brutal, honest and dampening opinions by Sheldon regarding this pursuit for probably-never-going-to-happen coitus. I love how they kept using the word coitus around until Leonard told them to shut up. Leonard, determined to keep up his hope for a romance with Penny, however brief, gave a weak case for his defense: "I'm a male..and she's a female.."
Sheldon, "but not of the same species."
OUCH. Sheldon is definitely made of awesome, yeah?
So, anyway, in an attempt to win brownie points from Penny, Leonard agreed to do her a favor --- getting her TV back from her muscleman jerk of an ex (bf). Sheldon and him went to the ex's apt and both were stripped off their pants. I mean, we could already see that coming..hurhurhur. In a sitcom, the muscles always WIN. They returned home sans pants but won Penny over anyway. A+ for the efforts.
I think the actor who plays Rajesh, the Indian friend who just can't speak to (hot) women, is really cute! He says, "smooth" as "smoot." LOL.
Stay tuned for more Big Bang Theory crunches!
